good evening blog readers, tonight i would like to quickly tell everyone a little about myself, what my plateform is, why it is so important to me as well as what i could do to promote my platform as Miss Teenage Canada.
My platfrom is to help encourage youth to stand out and be yourself, dont stop at nothing.. you truly dont know what you can achieve until you try, i feel as though this is a very important issue in todays society. As social media has boomed in this generation i beleive it has hurt some peoples perspective on the definition of perfect. there are to many people who think you need to be a certain way to be perfect. When that is what is truly making the young female youth loose their self confidence and holding them back from their dreams and ambitions.
For myself this is a very important issue.. growing up i had my self confidence plummet due to the way people judged me for not being their definition of perfect, i held myself back from so much when i shouldnt have. As i have got older and matured more in life i realized the importance of self confidence, thyis pageant has taught me alot about myself, and i truly wouldnt be where i am today without such supportive parents, family members and my boyfriend.
if i were crowned Miss Teenage Canada i would promote my platform by volenteering at youth centres, and telling others my story and hopefully help the youth through whatever problems they may be facing in life. id love to take from my situations and make others over come there fears so they dont hold theirselves back like i had once done to myself.
thank you for taking the time to read a little bit more about myself, my platform, and why i would like to be crowned Miss Teenage Canada.
sincerely, Catherine Dubois
xoxo

Hello Everyone! i havent been keeping you guys up to date with all the events ive done over the past couple months.. and i thought i would sit down and tell everyone some of the things i have done to keep myself busy!
where to begin…. what a crazy couple months it has been, between working two jobs and graduating on june 26th with a dual diploma i have also been to many events making appearnaces around Brandon.
My first event after being crowned Miss Teen Brandon was with the wheat kings! A huge thank you goes out to my Grandpa Ron Dubois for making the oppertunity even possible.. it was an absolute honour getting to help out our very own Brandon Wheat kings during their playoff season.
During the first Wheat Kings event Miss Teen Shilo was there to help out with  greating all of the fans with a welcoming smile and a noise maker to ‘Bring the noise’ during the playoffs. I must say it was a great turn out after running out of all noise makers the Keystone had most definatly Brought the noise!!
a couple weeks later going into the last home game for the Brandon Wheat Kings I had the oppertunity to once again help out the Game Day staff, they had me involved in everyway possible.. such an awesome experience! I had the job of standing at the fan booth helping out fans with some of the amazing draws, information on the game, and just being a friendly face to greet everyone! Once again.. Thank you Brandon Wheat Kings for letting me help out during such a busy time in the hockey season!
xoxo

1969  CTV aired for the first time from Toronto Miss Teenage Canada www.missteeagecanada.com  then owned by Cleo Products and sponsored mostly by A&W. It was a pageant for girls from the age of 14 to 17, they wanted to showcase the personality and beauty of the girls. Jewel McAveny was crowned Miss Teenage Canada www.missteeagecanada.com. She would be the first to wear the crown.

In 1972 the name changed to Miss Teen Canada   www.missteeagecanada.com  ,  the winner from here would than go to Miss Teen world which was held in the states. Canada did very well with many of the girls placing in the top 20 spots. Unfortunately due to financial hardships the pageant closed in 1990’s

In 2008 Michelle Weswaldi launched MTC-W inc http://www.missteenagecanada.com/about-mtcw/meet-the-team started  a premiere teen scholarship and beauty competition for ages of 13 to 19. The slogan “Be your own kind of Beautiful” began to be heard. Named Miss Teen Canada World www.missteeagecanada.com , unfortunately other smaller pageants had similar name and make it hard to distinguish the pageants. In 2014 MTC-W  change the name it is now Miss Teenage Canada http://www.missteenagecansada.com/about-mtcw/company-profile

Miss Teenage Canada www.missteeagecanada.com  is successful because of what it has to offer the young ladies. It is one of the largest teen pageants in Canada, it is very similar to Miss Teen USA. The winner carried on to Miss teen Universe. Katie Starke the first to be crown in 2008 followed by 2009 Siera Bearchell , 2010 Channing Smendziuk, 2011 Lauren Howe, 2012 Megha Sandhuand current 2013 Jill Martins. Miss Teenage Canada www.missteeagecanada.com formally Miss Teen Canada – World  is held in Toronto Ontario, has the highest number of delegates, the most media exposure ,celebrity judges like Zack Werner, Natalie Grace, Kristin Fairlie   and Olympic star Okiki Akinremi and hosted over the years by Paula Brancati , Adano Ruggeiro, and Luke Bilyk.

The prize package is not only gifts, cash there is a trip that is sponsored by S-Trips a total winning is over $30,000. Follow Miss Teenage Canada on http://www.facebook.com/MissTeenageCanada , where they will keep you updated with the latest events, pictures , will give you the link to the live broadcast for the Crowning gala. Miss Teenage Canada www.missteeagecanada.com  is one of the first pageants that broadcasts live in Canada via Livestream http://livestre.am/4SCcZ  this is great when you have family and friends that cannot attend the Crowning Gala Event.

It was very exciting to see that  Miss Teenage Canada http://missteenagecanada.com/become-mtcw/apply-now helps out Cardiac Kids http://www.cardiackids.ca/   and Free the Children http://www.freethechildren.com/   volunteering  is a part of my life and one of the reason I was excited to applied  http://missteenagecanada.com/become-mtcw/apply-now The top delegate to raise the most money is awarded a Me to We Trip  ,  over the pass years Miss Teenage Canada www.missteeagecanada.com has donated over 190,000.00 to Free the children with the help of the delegates.

Winning the crown for me would be a stepping stone to making all my dreams a reality..

Hi everyone! My name is Brittany, and I am very proud to currently be carrying the title of Miss Teen Brandon 2014. On my blog, you will find various information about myself, and I will also keep you updated with all of the upcoming events that I will be attending. You can also follow me on my journey to nationals coming up in July!

I am 17 years old, and I was born and raised in Brandon, Manitoba. I have two siblings, which are both older, and two adorable nephews who mean the absolute world to me, and a mom and dad who support me through absolutely everything. I am currently in Grade 12 and will be graduating on June 23rd. Growing up in Brandon has provided me with alot of memories, I have made a lot of friends throughout the 17 years of living in Brandon. We have lived in the same neighbourhood my whole life, and I would not trade it for the world. I have the most kind-hearted neighbours, and have loved every minute of living in this neighbourhood. I have always been the shy type of person, and have also always been a girly girl. I have always been interested in hair, make-up and everything else girly. Throughout my school years, I was always involved in sports team in and outside of school. The sports I played were basketball, volleyball and baseball. Also, during my school years, I did various volunteering around my community. I volunteered at a local petshop, school events, and also at an seniors home.

My Platform – My platform is something that I really believe in and it is a message that I would really love to get across to others. My platform is to encourage young teen girls. Today’s society has painted a picture on body image, how you should look, etc. I want to inspire young girls to feel confident and comfortable in their own skin. When I was younger, I wasn’t very confident and I just really want to teach young girls that no matter what, you are a beautiful, unique individual. I want young girls to beat society, and teach them to always be their own person, and to always love yourself. I believe that a happy person, is always a beautiful person.

I would just like to take time out to thank my family and friends for their wonderful support. My journey as Miss Teenage Brandon has just begun and you guys have given me your 100% support since day 1, and have made it amazing so far! I would mostly like to thank my mom, for pushing me, giving me all her love, support and time, and motivating me to do this pageant. I never thought pageants were something I would get into, and thanks to her, I did it! I would also like to take time out to thank Miss Teen Canada World Pageant for giving me this amazing opportunity. I have already made some strong friendships with the girls that I met at the provincial pageant back in May, and I cant wait to meet all the other finalists. Nationals is coming up soon, and I cant wait to embark on the amazing journey with all the girls.

Today was a bit more relaxed than yesterday, we only had to wear our workout outfit for most of the day. We were taken to go for breakfast at 7 am to board the bus and drive over. After breakfast we were taken to a Yoga place called Union Fitness where we did a fifty minute yoga class…..it was difficult to fit all 65 of us into one room…I was smelling Mega’s feet (Miss Teen Canada World 2012). It was so much fun and so relaxing, I love doing yoga; I could of fallen asleep at the end of the class laying on the matt and listening to Michael Jackson’s Man In The Mirror! The instructor was really good and everyone knew exactly what she was telling us to do, she didn’t even have to show us! All the girls and I then again boarded the bus ( Shore Airlines! ) and went back to the hotel to rehearse our walks and swimsuit number! We are dancing to “Bom Bom Bom” by Sam and The Womp, it looks really good so far. At around four thirty after lunch we had ten minutes to change into nice dresses and heels to go to the mall! We were sponsored $50 dollars each for garage! And also a ten dollar gift card for the food court. This took a long time, walking around the mall with 65 girls in crowns and heels draws a lot of attention…especially boys! It took us a few hours to shop in one store and get some supper! It was delicious subway that I had 🙂 Thank you Garage and Urban Eatery for the gift cards!! check out my Facebook and twitter for some pictures!

So I got exactly two hours of sleep after my video interview last night! I was so tired when I got up this morning I could barely get out of bed! Today was definitely a busy day, up 4:00 am getting ready for breakfast television, we boarded the bus at 5:30 and went to the station, a few girls were selected to talk about themselves, including my roommate who talked about how she woke up and couldn’t see one morning! The interview was something I have never experienced before and it was fun, I was completely comfortable with the cameras moving all around and the directions we were given. After breakfast television we went for breakfast at a lovely park and had bacon, eggs, hash browns, and toast! After we finished breakfast we drove to the CN Tower and were taken to the top for photos and some free time! I always love coming to the CN Tower and looking at the city! We all took time to take some photos on the glass floor and out on the deck, it was so much fun! After breakfast television we were taken to  the Distillery center to do a scavenger hunt, Thank you Rob for setting it up, it was so much fun! We were given lunch at one of the restaurants, they had delicious burgers and fries! Then we were taken to Costa Blanca in the mall!!! They gave us all a $50 gift card to buy anything we wanted!!! I bought this cute orange dress that is so comfy!! Thank you so much Costa Blanca for giving us the gift cards, I know for sure I really appreciated it! After going to the mall all of us hopped back onto the busses and were taken down to be on the Much Music Show, it was so much fun everyone was dancing and laughing, it was fantastic! There were so many of us that we couldn’t all fit behind the chairs by the windows so we had to switch halfway through! Much Music was so “Much” fun!!! 🙂 After the show we got to take some photos and hangout with some of the dancers and beat boxers that competed on the show. After when we go back to the hotel we went upstairs for a briefing and grabbed supper and headed back to our rooms. All in all it was a fantastic day! I had so much fun and can’t wait for tomorrow!!
